The Respiratory Therapy Department at Lakeside Health System is comprised of New York State licensed allied health professionals dedicated to providing a high level of quality care in meeting the needs of our patients that experience issues related to their Cardiopulmonary well being. The Respiratory Therapy staff functions as part of the patient care team by utilizing their expertise to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, management, and education of patients suffering from illnesses affecting their lungs and heart.
The Respiratory Therapy Department at Lakeside is responsible for providing a myriad of services including but not limited to the following: Pulmonary Function Testing, Electrocardiograms (EKG’s), Electroencephalograms (EEG’s), Cardiac Stress Testing, Pulse Oximetry, administration of inhaled medications, Oxygen Therapy, airway management, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
