The Emergency Department
Fast, efficient care when you need it most.
It might be a fractured ankle, a cardiac arrest or stroke, or a traumatic injury from an accident. Regardless of the severity, when something happens that warrants going to the emergency room, you need immediate attention.
Lakeside Memorial's emergency services team is your first line of defense when you need them most. From EMTs to nurses and physicians, our team is trained in the highly specialized field of emergency medicine, which requires quick thinking, a broad spectrum of medical knowledge, and the ability to stabilize patients quickly.
Lakeside is unique in that we don't have a traditional triage process. Rather than going through initial screenings by an emergency staff, you are evaluated by a doctor almost immediately. Because of this and other processes we've implemented to speed care, Lakeside has shorter waiting times. The average wait regionally is four to six hours—our overall patient processing time is 87 minutes. The Lakeside emergency department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with the support of a full medical staff including specialists. When you need us most, we'll be ready and waiting.
